‘Getting ready for re-opening during Covid-19’ is the title of Euromat’s free to participate webinar taking place on Tuesday 12 May 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (BST).
Hosted by Euromat President Jason Frost, the hour long discussion will feature contributions from a range of European thought leaders including Sascha Blodau, General Manager UK, Gauselmann; Stefan Bruns, Managing Director, Casino Merkur International; Simon Thomas, CEO and Chairman, Hippodrome Casino; Claus Sorensen, Senior Advisor Interel, former Director General European Commission and a member of the WHO’s advisory group on pandemics and Roel Veltmeijer, who in addition to his role as President of FEC nl, also operates 50 Gamestate branded FEC venues across four countries in Europe.
Heralding the Euromat initiative, Jason Frost stated: “These are unprecedented times as the entire world responds and reacts to what will be a ‘new normal’. Our sector was the first to be hit by lockdown and according to virtually every analyst and commentator could be among the last wave of businesses to return. With several countries taking tentative steps towards easing restrictions, operators everywhere are considering how they will open their doors while enforcing social distancing to protect staff and customers. This represents a monumental challenge which is why I am delighted to be able to confirm that some of the leading thinkers and most successful business people in the land-based sector have agreed to share their thinking and insight with us.
“Claus Sorensen is a member of the World Health Organisation’s advisory group on pandemics and will provide an analysis of the thinking and challenges that EU Member States will be addressing as they move towards lifting current restrictions. The senior team we have secured from the world famous Gauselmann Group will be examining the detailed practical challenges of re-opening in a post pandemic world and how the regulations differ between countries. The Hippodrome’s Simon Thomas will highlight how operators can keep staff and customers engaged during lockdown and Roel Veltmeijer will provide his insight both as President of the Dutch FEC trade association and as a highly accomplished pan-European FEC operator.”
He added: “The first Euromat Gaming and Amusement Summit, scheduled to take place in Dublin this month was cancelled as a result of the lockdown measures and I am delighted that with the assistance of our organisers, Swan Events, we have been able to replace the in-person event with this free to participate webinar which includes the opportunity to forward questions to myself and the panel.”
